Festo Custom Compressed Air Preparation System
Tell us where the compressed air will be used and how clean it needs to be. Our automation team will size and quote the right Festo service unit combination.
Overview
Features
- Service unit combinations built from the Festo MS modular system: shut-off, filter regulator, fine and micro filters, activated carbon filter, dryer, and lubricator
- Air quality targets stated in ISO 8573-1:2010 classes for particles, water, and oil
- Manual, electric, and two-channel safety shut-off with soft-start and exhaust
- Manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic condensate drains
- Pressure gauges, pressure and differential pressure sensors, and flow sensors for monitoring
- Energy efficiency module that shuts off supply air when the machine is idle
Air Quality Packages at a Glance
| Air Quality Target | Typical Use | What's in the Package | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7:4:4 Standard Pneumatics | Valves, cylinders, grippers | On/off valve + filter regulator (5 µm) | Festo's standard for pneumatic components |
| 6:4:4 Improved | Air tools, proportional valves | Adds a 1 µm fine filter | Finer particle class for sensitive devices |
| 3:4:2 Clean | Conveying air, blasting, test air | Adds a 0.01 µm micro filter | Lower particle and oil carryover |
| 1:4:1 Oil-Free | Painting, electronics, food, pharma | Adds an activated carbon filter | Removes oil vapor and odor |
| 1:2:1 Dry and Oil-Free | Chip making, dry product contact | Adds a membrane or adsorption dryer | Low pressure dew point for cold or critical lines |
What Happens After You Request Pricing
1. Request pricing
Your configured part number and selections come straight to the Motion World team.2. We size it
An automation specialist checks flow, pressure drop, and filter sizing, and asks any follow-up questions.3. You get a quote
We send back the Festo module list, part numbers, and pricing, with a CAD model if you asked for one.Description
Compressed air leaving a compressor carries particles, water, and oil. Left alone they shorten component life, cause corrosion and sticking valves, and waste energy through leaks. The job of a service unit is to take the air you have and bring it to the quality your equipment and product actually need.
That quality is stated in ISO 8573-1:2010 as three class numbers for particles, water, and oil, written like 7:4:4. Lower is cleaner. Festo's standard for valves and cylinders is 7:4:4, while air that touches a dry food product or a semiconductor wafer is closer to 1:2:1. Each step cleaner adds a module: a fine filter, then a micro filter, then an activated carbon filter, then a dryer.
Order matters as much as the parts. A shut-off valve comes first so the rest can be serviced, filters sit upstream of the regulator to protect it, fine and micro filters go near the end of the chain, and a two-channel safety valve always sits last. This configurator follows that order, so the picture changes as your air quality target changes.
