Overload Relays
Overload relays are a protective device used in electrical systems to prevent motors from damage due to excessive current draw. These relays monitor the current flowing through a circuit and automatically disconnect power when the current exceeds a predetermined threshold for a sustained period, typically caused by mechanical overload, phase failure, or other abnormal operating conditions. These devices can be thermal (using heat-sensitive elements), magnetic (using electromagnetic coils), or electronic, and are commonly found in motor control centers and industrial applications where equipment protection is critical.
