The SICK AGV Dynamic Weather Assist Series Safety System consists of the outdoorScan3 safety laser scanner, the Flexi Soft safety controller and a software function block. Through the function block, the scanner automatically switches its protective fields depending on the weather, thereby enabling continuous operation automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in harsh weather such as heavy rains or snowfall by decreasing speed of movement versus coming to a full stop. This vastly extends the service life of AGV breaking systems.
